- Specifically, in the stretch of the A-8 Torrelavega -Hoznayo between km 195 and 232; and between km 3 and 11 of the S-10, south of Santander.
- The works will consist of the installation of acoustic screens and/or paving of roads with sound-absorbing mixtures.
- This action is part of the development of phase II of the Action Plan against Noise in the State Road Network.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has provisionally approved and will submit to public information, through its forthcoming publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE), the project of anti-noise actions on the A-8 motorways, between the km. 195,170 and 232,370 (Torrelavegas-Hoznayo section); and S-10, between km 3,180 and 11,760 south of the city of Santander, both in Cantabria, and which has an estimated budget of 16.3 million euros (VAT included).
The objective of the work, which falls within the framework of phase II of the Action Plan against Noise in the State Road Network (RCE), is to implement the necessary corrective measures to meet the noise quality objectives (OCAs) established in the current regulations, and whose compliance in the State Road Network is periodically reviewed through the elaboration of the corresponding Strategic Noise Maps (MER).
Based on the analysis of the corresponding MSW in the aforementioned sections, the actions to reduce noise pollution due to the presence of buildings for residential, hospital and teaching use have been defined; and they will basically consist of the installation of acoustic screens of different height according to the case and/or the resurfacing of the roads with sound-absorbing mixtures.
Finally, it should be noted that, in this environment, the Ministry has recently begun work to improve pedestrian and cyclist mobility in the United States. N-611 and N-623 crossings in Santander, for 11.42 million euros.
