The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility continues to carry out the modernization and safety improvement works of the Gedo, Somaconcha, Lantueno, Las Caldas, Riocorvo and Pedredo tunnels, located on the A-67 motorway and the N-611 road, in Cantabria. This action has a budget of 31.3 million euros (VAT included), financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
In this context, a rolling layer with asphaltic agglomerate will be extended on the road, in the direction of Santander, of the Somaconcha tunnel, located at km 147 of the A65, in the municipality of Pesquera.
Therefore, and in order to guarantee the safety of workers and users, from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30 and until 13:00 a.m. on October 3, the tunnel tube will be closed to traffic in the direction of Santander.
However, it will be allowed to travel in a lane at night from 7:00 to 20:00 hours, except for special vehicles with a width greater than 4 m, which can travel on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between 20.00 and 21.30 hours, due to the limitations imposed by the works that are also being carried out in the viaduct of Marlante.
To ensure the fluidity of traffic, an alternative route will be established, duly signposted, to travel on the N-611 road, from the exit at link 144 of the A-67 to the return to the motorway at the link of Santa Cruz de Iguña at km 157.
