The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has highlighted the 900,000 euros that the Government of Spain is going to allocate to the Specialized High Performance Center of Santander.
Casares has valued “this significant investment” that will be made by the Higher Sports Council after the approval by the Council of Ministers of a royal decree-law that regulates the direct granting of subsidies for actions of sporting relevance.
“900,000 euros, almost one million euros, are going to be allocated for the modernization of the facilities and sports spaces of the High Performance Sailing Center of Santander, a reference in the preparation of the Olympic sailing classes and in the innovation associated with nautical sport,” he said.
The government delegate said that “it is another demonstration of the commitment of the Government of Spain to Santander and Cantabria”.
“We are talking about one of the nine high-performance centres in Spain, one of the five dedicated to sailing, and which since 2018 has been the headquarters of the Royal Sailing Federation,” said Casares.
For the government delegate, this investment for the improvement of the facilities of the High Performance Sailing Center “proves the commitment of the Government of Spain with our autonomous community carrying out all the necessary investments to modernize and transform the facilities of a first level sports center.”
Finally, Pedro Casares pointed out that “the Government of Spain permanently demonstrates its commitment to our land with large investments in infrastructure, with small investments in municipalities that transform people’s lives like all projects of humanization of the road network of the State or with projects like this that will improve important sports facilities with almost one million euros”.
“We have a government of Spain that is committed, that complies, that invests and with which Cantabria advances,” he concluded.
