The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is implementing the works of the A-67 motorway (Cant｟｠ -Meseta) consisting of the construction of a branch of continuity between Sierrapando and Barreda and the improvement of the links of Sierrapando, Barreda and Torrelavega; in the vicinity of the municipality of Torrelavega.

This work as a whole has a budget of 141 million euros (VAT included).

In this context, and to ensure the safety of both workers and users, during the coming week several works will be carried out that will entail temporary traffic restrictions, always at night, necessary to advance in the execution of the works:

• Night from Sunday 13 to Monday 14 July, from 00:00 to 7:00 hours. Cut off the A-67 motorway towards Santander at km 180, so the vehicles coming from Palencia towards Santander/Oviedo and Bilbao, will be diverted at the Tano link located at link 178 of the A-67. This cut is necessary to perform the agglomeration of the rolling layer in the branch of A-67 new branch of continuity and the A-8.
• Night from Monday 14 to Tuesday 15, from 22:00 to 7:00 hours. Cut of the outer handle of the Sierrapando link towards Palencia/Oviedo/Santander and of the A-8 at km 228, on the occasion of the execution of the rolling layer of the south mouth of the Torrelavega tunnel towards Oviedo. The vehicles coming from Bilbao to Oviedo/Santander will be diverted to Sierrapando to Avenida de Bilbao, and those coming from Palencia to Oviedo/Santander will be diverted to Sierrapando in the Ochos area.
• Night from Tuesday 15 to Wednesday 16, from 22:00 to 7:00 hours. The traffic coming from Santander to Palencia and Bilbao will be cut off, as well as those coming from Oviedo to Bilbao, the vehicles will be diverted to Torrelavega on the occasion of the execution of the rolling layer of the firm in the south mouth of the Torrelavega tunnel to Bilbao.
• Night from Wednesday 16 to Thursday 17, from 22:00 to 7:00 hours, the exit branch of the A-67 from Santander and with exit to Oviedo at km 183 of the A-67 will be cut at the Torrelavega link. It will also cut the exit branch of the A-8 towards Palencia and towards the entrance of Sierrapando at km 229 of the A-8, so that vehicles that want to enter Sierrapando or go in the direction of Palencia will have to turn in the next link of the A-8, link of Zurita located at km 225.

Throughout the week, the work will be done at night with the aim of minimizing traffic conditions. However, it is recommended that drivers plan their trips, attend to the provisional signs installed in the area and follow at all times the instructions of the construction staff and traffic authorities.
