The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, received on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Delegation 65 female cadets of the 3rd grade of the Academy of Civil Guard Officers, within the framework of a training week they develop in the autonomous community.
During the event, the delegate explained to the future officers the competences of the Government Delegation and congratulated the students for their vocation of public service and their high academic level, remembering that all of them agreed to the training after obtaining more than 12 points out of 14 in the EVAU.
Gómez de Diego highlighted that "these young people are an example of merit and ability" and stressed that the Government of Spain is committed to strengthening the State Security Forces and Corps. In this regard, he pointed out that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez "is reversing the cuts applied by the Government of the Popular Party" and has called in the last two years "the highest public job offers in history, both in the Civil Guard and in the National Police".
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Civil Guard in Cantabria and the Academy of Officers. On the part of the Autonomous Community, the Chief Colonel of the Area of Cantabria, Antonio Orantos Míguez, the Chief Lieutenant Colonel of Operations, Julio Postigo, and the Chief Lieutenant Colonel of Personnel, María del Pilar Villasante, were present. The Academy of Officers has been attended by the acting Lieutenant Colonel Director, José Cachinero López, and the Lieutenant Colonel Chief of Training Studies, Jorge López Ramos, accompanied by teachers, instructors and support staff.
Along with the 65 national cadets, four foreign scholarship students from the police forces of Senegal, Chile, Ecuador and Peru have also participated in the visit. They are doing their training at the Civil Guard university center in Aranjuez after having spent the first two courses at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.
At the end of their training, the Cadet Fellows will obtain the employment of lieutenant and a double degree in Security Engineering and Operational Direction of Security. It is the quarry of the future commanders of the Civil Guard, from post commanders to generals who will direct the highest structures of the body.
The institutional visit is part of a training program in Cantabria that includes knowledge of the functioning of different State, regional and local institutions.
