The Government authorized this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, to allocate 2,901,852 euros to Cantabria to finance rural development interventions contemplated in the National Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027.
The total investment proposed for rural development by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to transfer to autonomous communities and cities is 158,225,557 euros, an amount conditioned to its approval by the Sectoral Conference.
The distribution has been made according to the agreements reached between the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities. With this authorization, the Government remains committed to continuing financial support for the interventions of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The CAP Strategic Plan includes support measures of a different nature, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and action against the climate and achieving a balanced territorial development of rural areas. These measures are financed by the EAFRD and contributions from the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities themselves.
