The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Universities of Cantabria and Samsung presented today in Santander the fourteenth classroom of the national network of Classrooms of the Future for the improvement of teaching skills.
This classroom joins the national network integrated by the classrooms of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training (INTEF), located in Madrid and inaugurated in 2021, and those of Valencia, Valladolid, Logroño, Ceuta, Zaragoza, Seville, Tenerife, Toledo, Merida, Cartagena, Tarragona and Oviedo, thus expanding the objective of reaching the entire educational community.
These Classrooms of the Future, managed by INTEF, allow the educational community to reflect and explore how digital technologies can improve learning, while teachers develop their professional skills, especially digital competence. This is possible thanks to the workshops, seminars, practical sessions and courses organized in these spaces, which promote active methodologies and a responsible and inclusive use of digital technologies, emphasizing the digital well-being of teachers and students.
Since 2021, the classrooms of the future have offered training to more than 14,500 people, thanks to the more than 450 training activities in face-to-face or mixed mode offered in these spaces. Although most of the attendees were teachers, other profiles also participated, such as training advisors and program managers in the educational administrations.
The new Aula del Futuro is located in the Centre for Innovation in Education Technologies of Cantabria – CITED, which today has been the scene of the opening ceremony chaired by the Director General of Evaluation and Territorial Cooperation of the Ministry, Mónica Domínguez; the Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Universities of Cantabria, Sergio Silva; and the CMO & Head of Direct to Consumer of Samsung Electronics Iberia, Alfonso Fernández.
In addition, the collaborating entities have been present and involved in the creation of this network of classrooms for the training of teachers: Federico Giner (educational furniture), Smart Technologies, Robotix, iT3D, Vodafone Foundation, Crambo and Tibot.
