The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is implementing the works of modernization of the tunnels of Caviedes, Hoz, Torrelavega (on the A-8), Gibaja and Limpias (on the N-629 road), all of them in Cantabria.
This work has a global investment of 13.13 million euros (VAT included) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the funds of the European Union Next Generation.
In the development of these actions, a new evacuation gallery will be executed in the Torrelavega tunnel, located between kilometers 229 and 230 of the A-8.
For this reason, it will be necessary to cut the left and central lane of tube 2, direction Santander/Oviedo, from 0:00 hours next Tuesday, April 22, and it will continue until the end of the works, whose duration is estimated to be 8 weeks.
To ensure the safety of workers and users, during the duration of the works, extreme precautions are requested when moving around this area.
