The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is putting into service this Wednesday, April 16, from 6:00 hours, the new route of the right road between km 182.6 and 187 of the A-67 direction Santander and the final exit 181 of the A-67 towards the A-8 direction Bilbao, at the node of Torrelavega in Cantabria. Meanwhile, it continues to advance in the works of the continuity branch Sierrapando-Barreda and improvement of the links of Sierrapando, Barreda and Torrelavega.
Effects on traffic by opening new driveway direction Santander
To be able to put this new section into service, it will be necessary to execute the works for the junction of the current right road with the new route, for which this road of the A-67 will be totally cut off from traffic between 20:00 hours on Tuesday 15 and 6:00 hours on Wednesday 16 April, temporarily diverting the traffic direction Santander on the N-611 road as detailed below:
- Alternative itinerary for traffic coming from Oviedo on the A-8:
The traffic coming from Oviedo must take Exit 231 – Torrelavega and follow the provisional detour signs on the N-611 road to the Polanco link (No. 187 of the A-67). The outlet 230 will remain severed.
- Alternative itinerary for traffic from Bilbao/Palencia on the A-8:
The traffic coming from Bilbao and Palencia must take Exit 231 – Torrelavega and follow the provisional detour signs on the N-611 to the Polanco link (No. 187 of the A-67).
Being inside a tunnel and guaranteeing the safety of the circulation, for the closure of the exit 230 it is required to make a right lane cut before the mouth of the Torrelavega tunnel to channel the traffic of Bilbao through the left lane and that of Palencia through the right. Thus, the deceleration rail of the outlet 230 itself, which will remain cut, can be closed with a smooth transition.
- Alternative itinerary for traffic coming from Torrelavega:
The traffic coming from Torrelavega will have cut off its access to the motorway, so you will have to take the next exit on the roundabout with indications of provisional diversion by N-611.
Disruptions to traffic by opening new exit 181 of the A-67
In addition to the above, the work of placing barriers and painting road markings from the junction of the final exit 181 of the A-67 towards the A-8 direction Bilbao will be carried out, for its subsequent immediate implementation.
To do this, from 21:00 hours on Tuesday 15 to 6:00 on Wednesday 16 April, there will be a total cut of said exit 181 on the A-67, between the km 179 and 181,500 direction Torrelavega. The traffic with direction Bilbao will be diverted by the A-8 with a change of direction on its link 232.
