The Government delegate in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, inaugurated this Saturday in the Naves de Gamazo the exhibition "A roll of dice", an anthological sample of the renowned photographer Chema Madoz, curated by Borja Casani.
During his speech, Gómez de Diego highlighted the role of the Naves de Gamazo as a cultural reference in the region and praised the artist’s ability to transform everyday life into extraordinary.
"Chema Madoz gives us other eyes to see the world; it opens the door for us to play again," said the delegate, highlighting the sensitivity and depth of the visual metaphors that characterize the work of the photographer, who has been surrounded by more than a hundred people in the inaugural event presented by the director of the ENAIRE Foundation, Margarita Asuar..
The exhibition, which brings together 100 photographs and sculptural objects created over 40 years of career, offers a direct experience with the pieces, without the intermediation of texts, to invite visitors to a free and personal interpretation.
Gómez de Diego congratulated the ENAIRE Foundation for the "brilliant work" that consolidates the Gamazo Ships as a cultural reference space, and celebrated the 30th Anniversary Photography Honorary Award granted to Madoz.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until next year, offering visitors the opportunity to delve into the poetic and magical universe of the artist, where objects acquire new interpretations and dimensions.
"Thank you, Chema, because your art reveals a new sensitivity and teaches us to reinterpret our knowledge and our vision of the world," the delegate concluded.
