The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, has today advanced that the General Directorate of Roads of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility will undertake in 2025 the renewal of the N-634 firm between the towns of Beranga and Praves.
This has been transferred to the mayor of Hazas de Cesto, Enrique Lastra, during the inauguration of the new pedestrian path that connects both centers. The Minister of Regional Planning and Environment, Roberto Media, was also present during the visit.
The new path, promoted by the City Council and cofinanced by the Government of Cantabria, has a length of 1,400 meters and runs between the intersection of the N-634 and the CA-269, in the direction of Solórzano.
The Government delegate has highlighted the importance of this work for the neighbors and has highlighted the collaboration between administrations to carry it out. "With this action, pedestrian safety in a high-traffic area is improved and both locations are connected in an accessible way," said Gómez de Diego, congratulating the municipal councillor.
For the construction of the promenade, signage and tracks have been removed, asphalt pavements have been demolished, and excavations have been carried out for the channeling of lighting, among other works.
In addition, two walls have been dismantled and rebuilt to ensure the continuity of the work, as well as the replacement of the signage. With this action, it seeks to improve pedestrian safety in an area of high circulation.
