The Government, on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, approved at the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, the distribution to Cantabria of 1,943,000 euros, intended for the consolidation of the First Plan of Modernization of Vocational Training.
In total, the autonomous communities will receive a new investment worth 130,337,040 euros to complete the I Plan of Modernization of Vocational Training implemented by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPD) since 2020. These funds will go to the autonomous communities to continue developing, for the fourth consecutive year, actions aimed at consolidating the new Vocational Training system promoted by the Executive.
A first item, worth 88,578,000 euros (1,593,000 in Cantabria), will be allocated to the creation of 41,790 new Vocational Training places (810 in Cantabria), among which 12,390 will be bilingual (90 in Cantabria), with an investment of 33,453,000 euros for this performance (243,000 euros in Cantabria).
With this new contribution, the Ministry has dedicated 842 million euros to the financing of 376,187 new places since 2020, in addition to those that each CCAA generates with its own budgets. This figure almost doubles the target set by the Government to create 200,000 new places in four years.
On the other hand, a total of 15,359,040 euros (240,000 euros in Cantabria) will be intended for the accreditation of professional skills of about 30,500 people. With this new contribution, the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports has distributed around 568.7 million euros to the autonomous communities to accredit professional competences since 2020.
Applied Technology Classrooms (ATECA Classrooms)
In addition, among the funds approved today, 110,000 euros are included for the creation in Cantabria of 2 new applied technology classrooms (ATECA classrooms).
In total for the CCAA regional there are 26.4 million euros for the creation of 480 new ATECA classrooms. With this new investment, the Government has financed the creation of 1,405 classrooms of this type in the last four years, with funding of more than 79 million euros.
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports has invested in the last four years, 5,367 million euros to create and promote the new Vocational Training system launched in our country.
Some CCAAs have expressly waived the amount earmarked for the creation of bilingual positions, the accreditation of the professional competencies of the workers of their respective territories and the financing of new VET positions.
