The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, highlighted today that Cantabria will receive next year "the largest financing in its history", which will allow the regional government to have more resources that should be used to "improve health, education, social policies and the rest of public services, as well as increase investments".
In a statement, Gómez de Diego has valued the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council, in which the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has announced that the Government of Spain will increase account deliveries by 9.5% for the next financial year.
"The Government of Spain will once again increase the funds of the autonomous communities and Cantabria will receive the largest funding in its history. Without doubt, it is very positive news that will allow the regional government to have more resources that should be used to improve health, education, social policies and other public services, as well as to increase investments in our peoples," he said.
Gómez de Diego stressed that "this increase is thanks to the fact that Spain is leading economic growth in the European Union and breaking record for job creation, which is what really worries citizens". "The reforms of the Government of Pedro Sánchez are bearing fruit and Spain is Europe's champion in economic growth and job creation," he said.
According to Gómez de Diego, in the six years of Pedro Sánchez’s government, Cantabria has received 3,612 million more than in the six years of Mariano Rajoy. “It’s almost 40% more resources,” he said.
The delegate also stressed that the Cantabrian Government will have a "greater margin of expenditure", since the department headed by María Jesús Montero has relaxed the objective of stability by two tenths, going from the surplus of 0.1% previously demanded to a deficit of one tenth.
