From July 1 in Laredo and Castro Urdiales, and from July 8 in Santoña, citizens of these localities will be able to benefit from the advantages of this computer application, which allows the electronic processing of files, the registration of facts related to the civil status of people, the organization of registration information in digital format and the telematic access to it.
In the same way, this new Civil Registry allows interoperability between public administrations, thus simplifying procedures, streamlining procedures and contributing to the elimination of displacements and the reduction of waiting times for users.
This was highlighted today by the Government delegate in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, after the resolution establishing the imminent entry into force of this new system was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The implementation of DICIREG in Cantabria is part of the process of modernization of justice that is being carried out by the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts, in collaboration with the autonomous communities. In addition, this project, which involves an investment of 15 million euros from the Government of Spain, is financed by the European Union (EU), through the funds of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR).
As explained by Gómez de Diego, this innovative platform will allow the electronic management of events such as births, marriages and deaths, facilitating citizens access to certificates and procedures remotely and safely.
In this way, Dicireg promises to improve administrative efficiency, reduce the use of paper and ensure the integrity of information through advanced security measures.
