The Gender Violence Unit of the Government Delegation in Cantabria held today a training day aimed at members of the National Police, Civil Guard and professionals from the Professional Associations of Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Social Education, Pharmacy, Law and Journalism.
The day was inaugurated by the delegate of the Government, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, and taught by the head of the Gender Violence Unit, Diana Morán.
The objectives of the meeting have been to update knowledge of the current situation in gender violence, highlighting the new forms of violence against women that are being detected (vicarious, digital, economic and sexual), as well as to strengthen institutional coordination between the different actors involved.
In his speech, Gómez de Diego highlighted the Government’s commitment to the fight against gender violence and pointed out the importance of training and coordination between different professionals to offer comprehensive care to victims.
For her part, the head of the Gender Violence Unit explained the contents of the day and presented the Resource Guide for victims of gender violence in Cantabria, a tool that provides information on the different resources available in the region for women suffering from gender violence.
The Gender Violence Unit of the Government Delegation in Cantabria has as its main objective the eradication of gender violence in the region. To this end, it develops different programs and actions aimed at the prevention, detection, care and protection of victims of gender violence.
