The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is executing the works of the continuity branch of Sierrapando - Barreda and of improving the links of Sierrapando, Barreda and Torrelavega of the A-67 motorway, in the province of Cantabria.
The design of the new Barreda link foresees the expansion of the structure of the Cabo River to be able to extend the current motorway roads to Polanco to three lanes. Therefore, and in order to be able to carry out the work that the expansion of the structure requires, from next Monday, April 22, there will be the narrowing of the roads of the two directions of circulation of the A-67 motorway, between the km 185,100 and 185,500.
This performance will leave a total road width for the circulation of 6 m, of which a width of 3.2 meters will remain in the lane on the right and 2.8 meters in the left lane. For this reason, overtaking in this area will be prohibited for heavy vehicles.
The administrations involved remember that there will be operators working in the area near the motorway, so prudence and respect for speed and signage are requested. The speed will be reduced to 60 km/h in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, and with the Civil Traffic Guard Group random speed checks will be carried out for the detection of vehicles with excess speed.
All the circumstances indicated will be properly marked, for which lateral signage indicative of speed will be provided, with a gradual reduction from 100 km/h to 60 km/h; road-narrowing signage, overtaking prohibition signage and speed control signage by means of a lateral sign at the beginning of the section.
Work leading to these traffic disruptions is expected to continue for at least about nine weeks.
