The Ministry of Industry and Tourism, through the EOI Foundation, opens the application period for the call for grants related to the “Activa Startups” program in Cantabria, offering Cantabrian SMEs up to 40,000 euros to improve their innovation through the “Activa Startups” initiative, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The grants are aimed at companies whose activity refers to any sector, with tax domicile in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, which have the status of SME and which are going to develop an open innovation project with the advice and support of a startup. The aid, in the form of a subsidy, will enable companies to meet the costs arising from the innovation process. In particular, the maximum amount established for each beneficiary SME is 40.000€.
“Activa Startups”, belonging to the “Activa” family of programs, is an initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism in the development of its National Strategy of Connected Industry 4.0 that has among its objectives the impulse of the digital transformation of the Spanish industry increasing its growth potential and developing in turn the local offer of digital solutions.
The EOI Foundation is in charge of managing the investment planned for the “Activa Startups” calls, which amounts to 44 million euros from the fund of the Recovery and Resilience mechanism and have a goal of supporting 900 SMEs by the end of 2024. In particular, the investment planned for this call amounts to 320,000 euros and aims to support 8 Cantabrian SMEs.
Applications can be submitted through the electronic headquarters of the EOI Foundation and the deadline for applying for aid will remain open for one month from the publication of the call in the BOE.
This call for aid is part of the SME Growth Capabilities Programme under Component 13 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which has an overall allocation of EUR 101 million until December 2024. This initiative is also part of “Spain Entrepreneurial Nation”, the long-term vision promoted by the Government to turn Spain into a reference country in innovative entrepreneurship in 2030.
