A total of 282 arrests and 1,349 complaints for different infractions are the result of the four months of validity of the Special Plan for the Development of Leisure promoted by the Government Delegation in Cantabria and the Civil Guard in the municipalities of Castro Urdiales, Laredo, Noja, Santoña, Suances and Potes.
The Government delegate in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, and the Colonel Chief of the Civil Guard, Antonio Orantos, have today taken stock of the Plan from June 1 to September 30, during which time 2,624 control devices have been developed in which more than 630 agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the six municipalities have participated.
Quiñones has congratulated all the administrations and agencies involved in the development of the Special Plan for the “good safety results” obtained for the second consecutive year and in which this summer Potes joined due to the forecast of a notable increase in visitors for the celebration of the Lebaniego Jubilee Year
The delegate of the Government in Cantabria considered that the Special Plan for the Development of Leisure “has been a success for the second year and has achieved what we proposed: that these tourist municipalities show their true image, that of cozy and safe localities”.
RESULTS
As for the results of the Plan, it has detailed that 282 arrests have been made in these six municipalities, for gender violence, drug trafficking, alcohol or robbery, and 1,349 complaints have been filed for infractions in the areas of alcohol and drugs, trafficking, public order or citizen security.
Likewise, the government delegate in Cantabria has indicated that 246 inspections have been carried out in establishments and 2,624 control devices have been carried out.
As for the data by municipalities, Quiñones has detailed that in Castro Urdiales 93 arrests have been carried out, 814 control devices have been developed and 427 complaints have been filed. While in Laredo, in these four months, 69 arrests, 1,111 checks and 205 complaints have been made.
In Noja, there have been 35 arrests, 72 checks and 287 complaints; in Santoña, 55 arrests, 259 checks and 219 complaints; and in Suances, 26 arrests, 244 checks and 175 complaints. While 4 arrests have been made in Potes, 124 checks have been carried out and 36 complaints lodged.
On the part of the Civil Guard, USECIC (Citizen Security Unit), the Traffic Sector, SEPRONA (Nature Protection Service), GEAS (Special Group of Underwater Activities), ARS Reserve Units and Squadron or the Cinological and Air Services have participated in this Plan. They have worked in collaboration and coordination with the Local Police of Castro Urdiales, Laredo, Noja, Santoña, Suances and Potes.
In addition to the delegate of the Government and the colonel head of the Civil Guard, the special delegate of the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) in Cantabria, Miguel Cárcaba, and other commanders of the Civil Guard attended the balance meeting of the Special Plan for the Development of Leisure.
