The Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA), has published two new supplementary lists of grants for the increase in fertilizer prices. In the specific case of Cantabria, the community has so far received 98,929 euros destined to 155 holders of agricultural holdings.
This new grant of aid for the autonomous communities amounts to 2.5 million euros and will benefit 2,188 holders of agricultural holdings. With these two new resolutions, the four payments made by the Ministry of Agriculture in this line of aid since April now total 291.5 million euros, distributed among a total of 241,548 farmers.
These supports were approved by the Council of Ministers through Royal Decree-Law 20/2022, of December 27, within the third package of measures to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine. The first list of beneficiaries was published last February, and the first payment was made in April, amounting to 280.8 million euros. Following this, new payments were made in June and July in the amount of 5.1 million and 3.1 million, respectively, to beneficiaries entitled to aid who saw their claims succeed or corrected the administrative circumstances necessary to receive them.
The first of the supplementary resolutions published today corresponds to the list of holders of agricultural holdings that were included in the concession resolution of July, but who were not at that time aware of their tax and/or social security obligations and who were given a month to update them. The list includes 17 holders who are granted the aid in the amount of 29.575 euros. The list also lists the holders who, after the established period, are still not aware of their tax obligations so they are denied the aid.
The second of the supplementary resolutions corresponds to those holders of agricultural holdings officially reported by the autonomous communities that were included in the provisional resolution published by the EAGGF on 17 July and who have either not submitted claims, have not exercised the powers of rejection or have only requested the change of the associated current account, and comply with the established requirements. In addition, it has been verified that they are aware of their tax obligations and with Social Security. This is a total of 2,171 farmers who will receive a total of 2,479,902 euros.
This resolution also includes those holders who have been denied aid for not complying with the established requirements because they are not aware of their tax obligations and/or social security. For these holders, the EAGGF will make a new crossing within a maximum period of one month so that they can keep abreast of these obligations. In the case of holders who do not correct the defects indicated within the indicated deadline, a decision to deny the subsidy will be issued.
Producers affected by these two supplementary resolutions published today may, if they so consider, file an appeal with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, within one month of the day following their publication.
It is estimated that the amounts will be entered into farmers’ bank accounts at the end of this month of October.
The list of the holders of the agricultural holdings to whom the aid is granted, together with the number of hectares of rain-fed and irrigated land computed and the amount of the aid to be received, can be found on the notice board of the electronic headquarters of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund fega.gob.e(s).
