The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) will carry out a simulation in the Caviedes tunnel of the A-8 motorway next Thursday, June 8 and, during the same, there will be traffic restrictions that will be duly signposted.
This simulation involves the closure in both directions of the A-8 motorway, from the links of Cabezón (km 249) to Caviedes (km 258).
The traffic closure, including the Caviedes tunnel, will be maintained from 22:00 hours on Thursday, June 8, until 05:00 hours on Friday, June 9. In this period, an alternative route will be established that will divert traffic to the N-634 road.
It should be noted that the carrying out of simulations in tunnels is of vital importance to safeguard security. Through the practice and evaluation of simulated scenarios, it is possible to identify and correct possible failures, improve response protocols and ultimately minimize risks in emergency situations.
