The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through the General Directorate of Housing and Land, has signed with the Government of Cantabria an agreement for the rehabilitation of 144 homes in the residential environment "Barrio Obrero del Rey", belonging to the municipality of Santander. Of the EUR 3.9 million to be used in this project, the Ministry will provide EUR 2.7 million in funding from NextGenerationEU funds under the Recovery Plan.
For these actions, all in privately owned homes, the Government of Cantabria will directly grant the subsidies. The beneficiaries of the aid will designate a rehabilitating agent who will carry out the rehabilitation office services, facilitate the management and development of the programmed actions, carry out the urban regeneration works and the actions of rehabilitation of the buildings.
This agreement is part of the Recovery Plan’s Neighborhood Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program, which provides for the transfer of up to 2.97 billion euros to autonomous communities and cities in three annuities to finance this type of intervention in homes, residential buildings and neighborhoods.
