The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has awarded for a budget of 590,562 euros (VAT included) the contract of works of humanization of the crossing of the N-634 as it passes through Pámanes, in the municipality of Liérganes.
The intervention affects the stretch between the kilometers 202.8 and 206.4 of the N-634 road and aims to build a safe pedestrian itinerary contiguous to the road to give continuity to the pedestrian itinerary existing between the municipal terms of Penagos and Medio Cudeyo and reduce the speed of road traffic throughout its route.
To this end, the current platform of the road will be modified in order to extend the pedestrian band to an average width of 2 meters, the latter will be painted with a differentiated color and the road markings will be replaced. Likewise, the intersections of the N-634 with the CA-617 road and other accesses of the affected road environment will be rearranged.
It will also make it possible to reduce the speed of circulation by reducing the width of the rails and sides, the implementation of new horizontal and vertical signage, and the construction of a roundabout at the junction with the CA-904 road.
The intervention is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), within the voyage humanization program, which includes an investment of 105 million euros from NextGenerationEU funds to promote a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible urban environment.
With this, it is intended to promote the configuration of cities oriented to return spaces for other forms of alternative mobility to the car and to guarantee the physical connectivity of people.
