The Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation has carried out maintenance, conservation and improvement works in the Hazas stream, in the vicinity of the neighborhood of La Isequilla, in the municipality of Liendo.
The stream of the Hazas stream, in the immediate vicinity of the Isequilla neighborhood, flows into an area with peaks where it is naturally buried. The accumulation of tailings has caused the plugging of the sinks limiting their drainage capacity, even causing the accumulation of water in the neighborhood in episodes of moderate rain.
In order to guarantee the drainage of the Sima and avoid overflows, work has been carried out to extract the vegetable remains and sediments accumulated at the entrance of the sinks and along the course.
These actions have involved an investment of 12,069.39 € and have been carried out through the public company Tragsa within the Maintenance and Conservation of Waterways Program developed by the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation outside urban areas, in which the conservation and maintenance of waterways are the competence of the municipalities.
