This coming Thursday, November 27, the Government Delegation becomes the donation point of the Blood Bank of the Canary Islands, an initiative resulting from the collaboration with the General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Health Service (SCS).
In order to facilitate the donation to residents and visitors of the central area of the Gran Canaria capital, the headquarters of the Government Delegation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will open its doors as an extraction point from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.
The space for blood donations will be installed in the main entrance of the building of the Government Delegation, on its ground floor, which is accessed by the Plaza de la Feria.
To be able to be a donor you have to meet some essential requirements: you need to be between 18 and 65 years old (up to sixty if it is your first donation), weigh more than fifty kilos, enjoy good general health and not be pregnant.
In order to resolve any doubts, the General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Health Service has a free telephone number for donor care, 900 234 061.
