The Insular Directorate of the General Administration of the State in El Hierro celebrates today in the Asabanos Cultural Center of Valverde the commemorative act of the 50 years of Spain in freedom which he organized coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the end of the dictatorship of Francisco Franco.
The act, which is part of the initiative Spain in freedom, 50 years of the Government of Spain, unites history, art and citizen participation, particularly for the youngest and youngest, through word, music and memory.
It is a proposal of living memory to remember our recent past, to pay tribute to those who fought for democracy and to reflect on the challenges of the present.
It is an event of a symbolic nature that values the voice of small islands as an essential part of democracy, an act conceived as a scenic and collective experience that combines debate and artistic creation to claim democracy as a daily and decentralized practice.
The program of the day includes the music of DJ Frak, the songs for the freedom of the singer-songwriter Roger and the participatory rap dedicated to democracy and freedom of the sociologist and rapper Christian Perdomo, as well as a monologue performed by Blanca Rodríguez, with text by Fabiola Ávila.
In the discussion part, one has been organized living table of dialogue between rural women of different generations, such as Edelmira Morales, Mari Carmen Morales, Tamayt González and Atteneri Sánchez, as well as the intervention of the historian David Peraza.
This event is the first of those that have organized the seven island headquarters of the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands within the initiative Spain in freedom, 50 years implementation by the Government of Spain.
