The Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, and the Government subdelegate in Las Palmas, Teresa Mayans, today presented the awareness campaign against gender violence that the Government Delegation launches in the capital of Gran Canaria in collaboration with Correos. The Products and Services Manager of the public company in the Canary Islands, Tomás Godoy, also attended the event.
This new initiative, organized by the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women of the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, aims to raise awareness of the seriousness of gender violence and promote an active commitment to its prevention and eradication.
The campaign consists of the screening of two 10-second promotional videos, designed by the Ministry of Equality. These videos will be played on the television screens of 37 post offices distributed in six of the Canary Islands, excluding El Hierro, which currently does not have this support. For a month, the message will reach thousands of people who frequent these offices, turning the Post advertising screens into a strategic and high-impact channel.
The choice of Post Offices as a support for this campaign is not accidental. These public service points bring together people of all ages and profiles daily: workers, pensioners, students and entrepreneurs, generating a varied and representative audience of Canarian society. In addition, the geographical distribution of these offices allows the message to reach communities that are difficult to access, including those in rural areas and small municipalities, where awareness campaigns do not always have the same visibility.
