The deadline for the application of compensation for the transport of bananas with origin in the Canary Islands made during the year 2022, aid managed by the Functional Area of Promotion of the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, is now open.
Applications must be submitted electronically within 15 working days of the day following the day of publication on the Internet. Official State Gazette (April 28, 2023) of the Resolution of 24 April 2023 of the State Secretariat for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
Applications may be submitted by natural or legal persons with economic activity in the Canary Islands for goods that prove that they are of Canarian origin or are a fully manufactured product in the Archipelago.
The compensation shall be granted on the basis of the cost of freight for the air or sea transport of bananas from the Canary Islands to other Member States of the European Union and other States signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, excluding transport between the Canary Islands from these compensations.
Applicants for compensation shall submit the supporting documentation set out in Article 10 of the Regulation. Royal Decree 552/2020, of 2 June, on compensation for the maritime and air transport of goods included in Annex I of the Treaty establishing the European Community, to or from the Canary Islands.
