The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has litigated for 1.05 million euros (VAT included) a contract for works to repair several structures that are located on the stretch between Colunga and Llovio of the A-8 motorway, in Asturias. In particular, the structures to be repaired are between kilometers 319 and 337 of the aforementioned motorway.
The objective is to correct the pathologies detected in these structures after the inspections carried out, such as corrosion in the armatures, as well as cracking of the concrete. These pathologies are mainly due to the degradation that water causes on this material.
The planned work consists of the following actions:
- Viaducts of the river Sella and El Acebo:
- Repair of concrete walls affected by humidity.
- Sustitución de juntas de dilatación e inclusión de banda de drenaje de PVC.
- Milling and waterproofing of boards.
- In the particular case of the El Acebo viaduct, repair of fissure existing in the slab of the board next to the West stirrup.
- Viaduct of San Lino:
- Repair of a section of mixed steel-concrete pretil of about four meters in length next to the western foothill of the road direction Santander.
- Tunnels of Duesas and Arenal de Morís:
- Execution of perforations of 100 mm in diameter every 10 meters in the upper part of the hastials for installation of drainage tubes of 90 mm, joined longitudinally by pipe of 250 mm in diameter supported by metal supports.
- Sealing of the has｟｠ -vault joint.
- Repair of areas affected by water leaks.
This action is included in the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, in which the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has invested more than 357 million euros since June 2018 in Asturias. This program generates a significant boost to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.
