The Government, on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, has approved to allocate 3.4 million euros to Asturias for the training of workers. The Council of Ministers has authorized the proposal of distribution and the criteria of distribution to the autonomous communities of 107.4 million euros, aimed at training actions that are carried out in public centers, focused on strategic sectors of special economic and social relevance and associated with state programs.
It is also promoted that the actions are destined to those priority sectors that each autonomous community determines within the framework of its own strategic plans. On the other hand, 30% of this investment is aimed at people in situations of social or economic vulnerability, at risk of poverty or exclusion, and migrants who have participated in the recent regularization process of 2026.
Calls focused on strategic sectors
The Executive has also validated the publication of four calls for direct management of the Ministry, also aimed at the training of workers, endowed with 126.7 million euros, focused on strategic sectors in which a lack of professionals or difficulties for generational change has been detected, as well as groups that have special training needs. To this end, they are aimed at the construction, labour, tourism and particularly vulnerable sectors of the population.
The first call, endowed with 25 million euros, is intended to finance actions in the industrial and sustainable construction sector, as an instrument to modernize the sector, improve process efficiency and build to increase and speed up the supply of quality, affordable and sustainable housing.
The second, with an allocation of 35 million euros, is aimed at training in strategic trades and performances. They include actions in a dozen VET families considered strategic for their qualification needs and job coverage, such as Building and Civil Works, Installation and Maintenance, Electricity and Electronics, Safety and Environment, among other families.

The latter will entirely finance complete professional certificates, which will incorporate up to 25% of training complements aimed at basic language and digital skills or business skills.
