The Government Delegation in Asturias, through its Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, organizes the Annual Congress of Coordination Units against Violence against Women and Violence against Women Units at the Niemeyer Centre in Avilés on 7 and 8 October.
The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, will attend on Tuesday 7 the institutional opening together with the delegate of the Government in Asturias, Adriana Lastra; the delegate of the Government against Gender Violence, Carmen Martínez Perza; and the general secretary of Territorial Coordination of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Miryam Álvarez Páez.
The Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women, María Guijarro, will participate on Wednesday in the closing of the days, which will also be attended by the Mayor of Avilés, Mariví Monteserín; the Vice-President and Presidential Advisor, Demographic Challenge, Equality and Tourism of the Principality of Asturias, Gimena Llamedo; and the General Director of Equality of the Principality of Asturias, Vanesa Fernández.
This technical meeting will bring together about 80 participants from all over the country between institutional representatives and heads of specialized units, being configured as a key space to strengthen coordination, share experiences and define common strategies in the fight against male violence.
Its celebration in Asturias reflects the importance of territorial involvement in a challenge that requires the collaboration of all public administrations and society as a whole.
