The Government delegate, Adriana Lastra, visited the area where the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation will carry out the river restoration works of Bajo Sella and whose project has just been put out to tender. The vice-president of the Government of the Principality, Gimena Llamedo, the mayor of Cangas de Onís, José Manuel González, and the president of the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation, Bárbara Monte, have also attended.
These actions, with a value of about 5.4 million euros, aim to correct the morphological alterations of the riverbed, protect the riverside and the urban nucleus of Triongu, and mitigate the presence of invasive alien species.
The government delegate stressed that “this is great news not only for the inhabitants of Triongu, but for the whole of Lower Sella and demonstrates the commitment of the administrations to this area”.
