The delegate of the Government, Adriana Lastra, has presided over the meeting to coordinate security in the International Descent of the Sella and the Festival of Les Piragües that will be held on the first weekend of August. The large concentration of people on those days can lead to incidents or emergency situations, which requires the establishment of a surveillance and security device.
Lastra thanked those involved for their “work, coordination and collaboration” that make it possible for the Sella Descent “to remain a success”.
The device, in which a large amount of human and material resources will be mobilized, will be launched on Wednesday, July 31, will be increased until the weekend in both Arrionda and Ribadesella and will end on August 4. It will involve the coordination of the Civil Guard with the local police of Parres, Ribadesella and Cangas de Onís and the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias.
Also involved are the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, the State Road Demarcation, the Ministry of Development of the Government of the Principality, the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation, Renfe, SESPA and the organization of the International Descent of Sella. Representatives of all of them attended the coordination meeting today.
Regarding the roadblocks for next week, the Provincial Traffic Headquarters published in the Official Gazette of the Principality the restrictions to guarantee road safety. They can be consulted in this link.
