The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, through the Maritime Captaincy of Gijón, has issued a resolution restricting the navigation and anchorage of ships and recreational boats in the surroundings of the Port of Gijón-El Musel and the Inlet of San Lorenzo, where on 23 and 24 May the maritime events scheduled by the Ministry of Defense on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces (DIFAS) will be held.
The restrictions will be concentrated next Thursday, May 23, from 13:00 to 18:00 hours, and on Friday 24 from 12:00 to 19:00 hours. They will be extended to all ships, boats and nautical devices that are not directly related to the organization and the security device planned for the celebrations.
To facilitate maritime traffic and fishing activity during these two days, the North/South entry and exit channel of the port of El Musel will be enabled for merchant and fishing vessels, although it will be closed from 13:00 to 16:00 hours on 23 and from 14:00 to 16:30 hours on 24. All port entry and exit movements will be coordinated by Gijón Port Control (channel VHF 17).
