The Government delegate in Asturias, Delia Losa, has participated in the event organized by UGT on the occasion of the International Day of the Elderly in La Pola Llaviana / Pola de Laviana. Losa has received from the union leaders a manifesto with their demands for the elderly. A document that Losa has said to subscribe “in its entirety”. In this regard, he thanked the “explicit and uncomplicated recognition” in the text of the “effort” made by the Government of Spain to guarantee and strengthen the rights of the elderly.
He has emphasized the commitment made to raise pensions annually under the CPI, ensuring that there is no loss of purchasing power: “Let’s not forget that the Government of Rajoy raised them by 0.25% and that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has increased them by 8.5% this year.” The average pension in Asturias, with 1,641 euros, is the second highest in the country. That means that in January an average retirement pension increased by 107 euros per month.
Regarding the other union demands, the Government delegate has highlighted the “effort” to improve Primary Health Care, with an infrastructure improvement plan of 580 million approved in May and that is in addition to the 172 million invested last year.
In addition, he recalled that the bill regulating the Financial Client Defense Authority is pending in the Senate after being approved in the Congress of Deputies.
Losa highlighted the work done to reduce the digital divide with projects such as ‘The Administration near you’, promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, and that in Asturias it has been translated into talks on online processing that the staff of the Government Delegation has taught in all the councils of Asturias with less than 8,000 inhabitants.
