The delegate of the Government, Delia Losa, met this morning with the Director General of Youth of the Government of the Principality, Francisco de Asís Fernández, with the President of the Council of Youth of the Principality, Daniel Serra, and with the director of the High Inspection of the Delegation of the Government, José Antonio Fernández Espina, to analyze the implementation of the Young Cultural Bond.
The state aid of 400 euros is intended for those who reach the age of majority in 2023, 500,000 throughout the country and 8,300 in Asturias. In this year’s call, 3,813 young people in Asturias have requested it.
The delegate of the Government considers that this initiative of the Government of Spain that is convened for the second year “is a great initiative that on the one hand dynamizes the cultural sector and on the other hand is an impulse to promote the consumption of culture among the youngest”. And he recalled that the deadline for applying for the bonus expires on September 30.
The request is made through the web https://bonoculturajoven.gob.es/ or a mobile application. Once the help is granted, young people receive a virtual prepaid card for use through the mobile device or in physical format and they must use it within one year.
The 400 euros are divided into 200 euros to spend on live arts, cultural heritage and audiovisual arts, 100 euros for cultural products on physical media and another 100 euros for digital or online consumption.
In 2022, 281,000 young people applied for the voucher nationwide, 57% of those who reached the age of majority in that year. In Asturias, 4,993 grants were granted, so 62.8 of those who turned 18 in 2022 requested them.
Until June, the latest data updated by the Ministry of Culture, the young beneficiaries of the Young Cultural Voucher 2022 made 1.2 million operations in establishments in the cultural sector, worth 42.5 million euros. In Asturias there were 24,137 expenses in the amount of 787,575 euros.
