The government delegate in Asturias, Delia Losa, has met with the director of the Institute for the Just Transition, Laura Martín Murillo. They have reviewed the projects that the agency dependent on the Ministry for the Just Transition and the Demographic Challenge is carrying out in Asturias in areas affected by the closure of mining and thermal power plants.
Losa valued the recent extension of deadlines and project budgets of the mining plan for the period 2013-2018 following the request of the municipalities in areas of fair transition and due to the increase of raw materials costs.
In addition, the Institute for the Just Transition is working to launch an additional call for aid for municipalities equipped with 25 million of the Recovery Plan for social, environmental and digital infrastructures, of which it is estimated that 14 million would go to mining areas.
The meeting was also attended, from left to right in the photo: Patricia Zapico, agent of the territory of the fair transition agreements in Asturias; Julián Martínez, technical advisor of fair transition agreements; Gonzalo Mesa, director of the Industry Area of the Government Delegation.
