The Government, through the Sectoral Tourism Conference, chaired by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, has approved six tourism sustainability projects in Asturias, which will receive 18,020,000 euros for its implementation corresponding to the III Extraordinary Call for the Program of Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination 2023, financed entirely with the Next Generation EU funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Here are the projects:
· 6,530,318 euros for a project of the Government of the Principality to consolidate key tourist products of the destination in several municipalities.
- 3,967,182 euros for the plan of the Central Mountain region of Asturias.
- 2,100,000 euros for the plan ‘Avilés, historical and natural heritage’.
- 2,100,000 euros for the ‘Oviedo, origin of the road’ plan.
- 1,822,500 euros for the plan ‘Ribadesella, beach of the Picos de Europa’.
- 1,500,000 euros for actions for the sustainability of tourism activity in the continental waters of Asturias.
The Sectoral Conference on Tourism, held this Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, has detailed the projects definitively approved.
In total, the autonomous communities will receive an investment of 478 million euros for the financing of 175 tourism sustainability projects, 160 of which will be managed by local entities, while the remaining 15 correspond to cohesion actions (ACD) that will be developed by the autonomous communities and will have a direct impact on destinations.
By type of destination, 255 projects correspond to rural destinations with tourist identity, 69 to tourist destinations of sun and mixed/residential beach, 53 to cities with tourist identity, 18 to urban tourist destinations and the rest to coastal rural destinations (28), natural spaces (36), very internationalized sun and beach destinations (24) and large urban destinations (1)
