Huesca.- The Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, through the Special Employment Plan for Aragon, will distribute a total of 355,139 euros in the province of Huesca. This budget allows the hiring of 46 unemployed workers, preferably agricultural contingents, for the execution of 23 works of general interest in municipalities and districts of Altoaragon.
This week, the meeting of the Provincial Commission for Follow-up of the Special Employment Plan was held in the Subdelegation of the Government in Huesca to resolve the call of 2026, presided over by the Subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, José Carlos Campo, and with representation of the SEPE, INAEM, the Aragonese Federation of Municipalities, Regions and Provinces, the Provincial Deputation of Huesca and the economic and social agents.
Among the most important approved actions are the works for the prevention of fires in Velilla de Cinca (20,800 euros), the renaturalization of spaces in Monzón (22,400 euros), the conditioning of ditches in the Jacetania (22,200 euros) or the recovery of natural environments in Montañana and Graus (22,300 and 22,500 euros, respectively).
There are also projects in the Somontano Region, the Ansó-Fagasta Forest Community and in the municipalities of Torres de Barbúes, Azlor, Peraltilla, Laspaúles, Binaced, Santa María de Dulcis, Biscarrués, Castejón del Puente, Benabarre, La Fueva, Fonz, Ontiñena, Azara, Aínsa-Sobrarbe, Pozán de Vero and Colungo.
In 2025, this grant allowed the entire province to hire 47 workers in works and services that were carried out in 26 local corporations.
Development of rural areas
The Special Employment Plan allocates funds from the annual budgets of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) to finance the salary costs, including the business contribution to the Social Security, of unemployed people who carry out tasks for projects of works or services proposed by municipalities and counties.
These projects should preferably be carried out in periods not coinciding with the agricultural campaign, and are aimed at the development of the rural environment, through the conservation and development of forest heritage and the environment or the creation and improvement of infrastructures. In terms of deadlines, the works must begin in 2026 and end their execution throughout 2027.
