Today an agreement has been signed in the presence of the Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, the Secretary General of Urban Agenda, Housing and Architecture, Iñaqui Carnicero and the Councilor for Development, Housing, Mobility and Logistics of the Government of Aragón, Octavio Adolfo López, in which they have committed to the signing of two agreements and an addendum, which will allow the construction of 128 energy-efficient homes for social and affordable rent, once they have passed the procedures of control of the General Intervention of Aragón and approval in Council of government. MIVAU will provide 5.6 million for the implementation of these projects, from NextGenerationEU funds within the framework of the Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan (PRTR).
The first agreement will include aid for the promotion of 88 homes in Huesca, developed under public promotion by Tierra y Vivienda de Aragón S.L.U.
The second agreement will finance four actions in Zaragoza, which will be developed by the municipal company Zaragoza Vivienda, also under public promotion, for a total of 39 homes.
And finally, the addendum will involve the construction of an additional house in the action object of the agreement No. 15 already signed, which will be carried out, also under public promotion, by the City of Fagus.
New agreements
Through this aid plan, MIVAU intends to finance the increase in the public housing stock for social rent or affordable housing, through new construction promotions on publicly owned land. These homes will be part of the public park for a minimum period of 50 years and their consumption of non-renewable primary energy must be at least 20% lower than the requirements required in the Technical Building Code. The works must be completed by June 30, 2026.
For this program, endowed with 1,000 million euros, 14,485 million euros were transferred to the Autonomous Community of Aragon in the year 2022, and the financial commitment has been formalized from the annuality of the year 2023 for the same amount, having transferred to date the amount of 6,657 million euros corresponding to that annuality. The assistance provided is up to 700 euros per square meter of useful living space with a maximum of 50,000 euros per house.
Previously, 25 agreements of this program were signed in Aragon for the financing of 682 homes for social and affordable rent in 36 actions, with a contribution of NG funds of 23.4 million euros. In this way, with the signing of this agreement, the construction of a total of 810 homes will have been formalized in 41 actions, with a contribution of NG funds of 28.97 million euros, thus exhausting the funds corresponding to the Autonomous Community of Aragón in this program.
