The buildings of the Government Delegation in Aragon of the Plaza del Pilar of Zaragoza and the Office of Foreigners on the Avenida de Valencia of the Aragonese capital already have both automatic external defibrillators (DEA) with the aim of improving the conditions of occupational safety and health. The government delegate, Fernando Beltrán, stressed the need to provide “a quick and effective response to heart emergencies to offer peace of mind to workers and the general public, since early care allows us to gain valuable seconds to save lives and reduce irreversible injuries.”
Within the commitment to cardioprotection that is carried out when a defibrillator is incorporated into a public space, training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support (SVB) plays an essential role in increasing the chances of success when intervening in a cardiac arrest. Likewise, training in the use of defibrillators allows the best of reactions so that anyone can act until the emergence and action of emergency services. In the case of the two apparatus installed in the offices of the Government Delegation in Aragon, fourteen workers have been trained in the Plaza del Pilar and twelve in the Aliens Office.
The two devices installed in Zaragoza respond to the SP1IPAD model with a display case labeled with a help phone and the support instructions. They also have a resuscitation briefcase with the obligatory additional material according to decree 30/2019, as well as with the protocol of action for a resuscitation. In addition, signs explaining the characteristics of the cardio-protected area have been distributed in all buildings. These defibrillators can be used by people with minimal training and training, as they also do not require a prior clinical diagnosis.
In the coming months it is expected to complete the process of installation of defibrillators at the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in Huesca and Teruel. This December the two new devices will already be on the official map of automatic external defibrillators offered by the Government of Aragon.
