Aragonese exports represent, according to data for the month of March, 1,563.7 million euros, which implies a growth of 12.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, and an increase of 9.4% compared to the month of February. The report, prepared by the Territorial Directorate of Trade-ICEX in Aragon of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, with data provided by the Customs Department of the AEAT, also shows that the total imports of the community amount to 1,902.3 million euros, amounting to 59.8% compared to the previous year and 13.1% intermonthly.
However, the commercial balance in this period has a deficit of 338.6 million euros. The coverage rate stands at 82.2%. Aragonese exports accounted for 4% of total Spanish exports in the month of March 2023.
The main sectors that contributed to the growth of exports in Aragon came from the automotive, food, beverages and tobacco sector, capital goods and durable consumer goods. The sectors that contributed negatively were the consumer manufacturing sector, non-chemical semi-manufactures and other goods. In terms of imports, the sectors that contributed positively were mainly the automobile sector, capital goods, chemicals and food, beverages and tobacco. The biggest negative contributions were from the raw materials, energy products and other commodities sectors.
The European Union remains the main destination for Aragonese exports, accounting for 69.8% of the total, increasing by 20.6% compared to the previous year. Of the main partners, the increases in sales to France (25.1%), Italy (22.7%), Portugal (20.1%) and Germany (0.5%) stand out. Exports to third countries account for 30.2% of the total, increasing to all regions. Among other countries, there were positive increases in Nigeria (1266.9%), China (93.1%) and Morocco (62.8%).

Aragonese exports reach 4,322.7 million euros (8.9% increase compared to the same period of the previous year). Imports reached 4,728.1 million euros with an increase of 40.2%. As a result, the commercial balance in this period has a deficit of 405.4 million euros. The coverage rate stands at 91.4%. The export activity of Aragon represents 4.2% of the total domestic sales abroad.

Exports to third countries accounted for 30.2%, with increases to Argentina (69.9%), Nigeria (40.2%) and Morocco (39.6%) among others.
