The Board of Directors of SEIASA gives the green light to the award of the contract for the execution of the modernization works of Phase III of the Irrigation Community of Molinar del Flumen (Huesca)

* The UTE formed by ACSA, Works and Infrastructures, S.A.U. and Abadía Martínez, S.L., will carry out the action with a budget of 8,719,422.87 euros (VAT not included) * The objective is to build a raft of land that will complete the rest of the modernization previously carried out in the irrigated area, improving the energy efficiency of the system * The project benefits 351 irrigators who cultivate 3,643 hectares in the municipalities of Almudévar, Tardienta and Sangarrén

The Board of Directors of the State Society of Agrarian Infrastructures SEIASA, held on February 28, has agreed to authorize the award of the contract for the execution of the works of the “Project of execution of a raft of land for the modernization of the irrigation of the Community of Regantes Molinar del Flumen. Phase III (Huesca)” to the UTE formed by the entities ACSA, Works and Infrastructure, S.A.U. and Abadía Martínez,S.L., with a budget of 8,719,422.87 euros (VAT not included).

This action is part of the “Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and the State Commercial Society of Agrarian Infrastructures, S.A. in relation to the works of modernization and consolidation of irrigation contemplated in the planning of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and declared of general interest” signed on June 25, 2021, modified by an addendum signed on July 28, 2022.

The objective of the works is the execution of a raft of domain of cota that will complete the rest of the actions previously carried out in the irrigated area of this community of irrigators, improving the energy optimization of the system. The new infrastructure will modernize the irrigation of 3,643 hectares in the municipalities of Almudévar, Tardienta and Sangarrén and will benefit 351 irrigators.

The action will be co-financed by the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) within the framework of the National Rural Development Plan (PNDR) 2014-2020. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through SEIASA, has so far allocated a total of 63.45 million euros (VAT not included) to 5 actions in the Community of Irrigators of the Molinar del Flumen, modernizing 4,873 hectares and benefiting 450 irrigators:

• Phase I: 14.120.000 euros (VAT not included), completed in 2017 and in operation.

• Phase II: Irrigation Network: 22.159.065 euros (VAT not included). In execution.

• Rafts Phase I and II: 9,450,000 euros (VAT not included), finalized in 2019 and in operation.

• Phase III (FEADER-PNDR 2014-2020): 8,719,422.87 euros (VAT not included), recently awarded.

• PRTR Phase I Pumping Station: 9.010.000 euros (VAT not included), in execution.
