Aragonese exports represent, according to data for the month of December, 1,248.8 million euros, which implies a growth of 10.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, and a decrease of 11.3% compared to the month of November. The report, prepared by the Territorial Directorate of Trade-ICEX in Aragon of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, with data provided by the Customs Department of the AEAT, also shows that total imports amount to 1,249.5 million euros increasing 23.7% compared to the previous year and decreasing 3.7% intermonthly. The commercial balance in this period has a deficit of 0.7 million euros. The coverage rate stands at 99.9%. Aragonese exports accounted for 3.9% of total Spanish exports in the month of December 2022.
The main sectors that contributed to the growth of exports in Aragon came from the food, beverages and tobacco sector, durable consumer goods, the automobile sector and chemical products. On the other hand, the sector that contributed negatively was the energy products sector. In terms of imports, the sectors that contributed positively were mainly equipment goods, the automobile sector, food, beverages and tobacco and chemicals. The biggest negative contribution was the raw materials and durable consumer goods sector.
The European Union remains the main destination for Aragonese exports, accounting for 65.5% of the total, 13.2% higher than that recorded in December 2021. Of the main partners, the increases in sales to Portugal stand out (10.9%). Exports to third countries account for 34.5% of the total, increasing in the regions of the Middle East (52.2%) and Africa (3.4%) decreasing to all others: Oceania (-31.5%), Latin America (-7.8%), North America (-6.5%) and Asia excluding the Middle East (-4.6%). Positive increases can be noted, among other countries to Nigeria (230.2%), Vietnam (138.8%) or the United Arab Emirates (112.6%).

Aragonese exports reach 16,423 million euros (13.9% increase compared to the same period of the previous year). Imports reach 14,717.4 million euros with an increase of 20.4% year-on-year. As a result, the commercial balance in this period records a surplus of 1,705.7 million euros. The coverage rate stands at 111.6%.
The main export sectors in the period January-December 2022 with the greatest positive contribution have been the non-chemical semi-invoice sector, chemicals, capital goods and consumer manufactures. The main importing sectors by positive contribution were consumer manufactures, capital goods, chemicals and food, beverages and tobacco.
The European Union remains the main destination for Aragonese exports, representing 64% of the total in the January-December period, increasing by 21.9% compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the main partners, the cumulative increase until December in sales to France (28.8%), Portugal (27.9%), Germany (17.8%) and Italy (6.3%) stands out. Exports to third countries account for 36%, with increases occurring in all regions except Asia excluding the Middle East (-15%). By country, the increases to Argentina (138.1%), Brazil (65.9%) or South Korea (46.3%) among others stood out positively.
