The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), as announced today by the Official State Gazette (BOE), has formalized, for 1.4 million euros (VAT included), a service contract for the drafting of the project “Conditioning of the N-230 road as 2+1 road. Stretch: Benabarre – Sopeira”, in the province of Huesca.
The solution of conditioning the N-230 road as a 2+1 road will significantly improve the level of service and road safety, thanks to the physical separation of the circulation between the 2 directions of circulation, thus avoiding the need to invade the opposite lane to make overtaking.
These projects have proven experience at an international level, given that, in addition to improving the level of service and reducing accidents, it has a lower environmental impact compared to other possible solutions for increasing capacity, which is especially important in this case, when the road runs close to protected natural areas such as the Vall Alta de Serradell-Serra.
The action is included in the initiatives that Mitma is promoting to improve and develop the corridor of the A-14 motorway and the N-230 road between Lleida and the Vall d’Aran.
