The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 188,199 Andalusian households in which 560,699 people live, according to the statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) until the end of March. Throughout Spain, the IMV has reached 611,029 households in which 1,752,467 people live.
This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total beneficiaries in Andalusia, 42.5% are minors (238,542).
In addition, if we consider the number of households, in almost 72% there is at least one minor (135,498). According to these data, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 53.8% are women (301,946).
With regard to the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (ICSC), there are already 117,424. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
Bus and IMV Information Tent
In recent months, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration made available to citizens a bus and an information tent in which citizens interested, both in knowing this benefit and the status of their application or who would like to know if they are entitled to it and, if necessary, request it, could go without the need for an appointment. The aim of this new initiative has been to extend the scope of the IMV and ensure that all situations of poverty and exclusion are addressed.
These devices put in place by the Ministry served a total of 4,321 people from 44 localities belonging to 16 autonomous communities and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
Entry into force of the employment incentive
With the beginning of the year 2023, the employment incentive came into force, which reinforces the set of policies that make up the IMV and which is oriented to the beneficiary that enters the labor market or increases the number of hours of employment, in the case that he is already working, is guaranteed that his disposable income is higher than what he would have had without incentive, with an increase that is diminishing as labor returns increase. The incentive is calculated ex officio when the IMV is reviewed, in the event that there are changes in the income of the recipient's work.
