The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has formalized, for an amount of 2.6 million euros (VAT included), the works contract of the “Project of tracing and construction of the connection with Espartinas from the satellite link of the A-49/SE-40 and improvement of the structural capacity and drainage of the existing roads on both margins of the SE-40 (km 35.1 to 42.8) and the A-49 (km 6 to 11)”, in the province of Seville. The corresponding announcement will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The main object will be to execute a vial of 350 meters in connection length with the population of Espartinas from the north roundabout of the satellite link of the already existing A-49/SE-40. The Spartine connection will complete the functionality provided for this link and will make it possible to relieve traffic on links No. 6 (Gines/Bormujos) and No. 11 (Umbrete/Mitation Bollullos) of the A-49.
Other actions included in the project consist of the improvement of the structural capacity and drainage of the service roads existing in both margins of the SE-40, from km 35.1 to 42.8, and of the A-49, from km 6 to 11, highlighting the asphalting of a service road to enable better access to the urbanization Entrecaminos, in the municipality of Bollullos de la Mitación, from the autonomous road A-474.
The installation of opaque screens on the upper crossing of the “Cordel de Triana a Villamanrique” road on the SE-40 motorway is also contemplated to facilitate the passage through the structure of the animals that cross the motorway at that point.
This action is included within the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, in which Mitma has invested more than 125 million euros since June 2018 in the province of Seville, and which generates a significant impulse to improve the quality of service of the existing state road infrastructure.
