The Young Cultural Bonus adds, until March, a total of 156,210 operations in Andalusia, which means a total expenditure of 6.48 million euros. Currently there are 56,278 young Andalusians who have the Bono, to which 578 cultural entities are already attached.
Throughout Spain, operations are in the 730,072, 34.83% more than the total accumulated in the previous month. Since October, the total amount of purchases in the almost 3,000 establishments adhered throughout Spain has reached 27,755,507 euros, a figure 27.97% higher than that registered in February.
All of these operations revert directly to the cultural sector, through the cultural entities that participate in the program.
During March, the beneficiaries made 188,583 uses with the Young Cultural Bonus throughout the national territory. The value of the operations amounted to 6,066,426 euros in that month. The figure remained in relation to February, when 188,889 operations were recorded, amounting to 6,940,181 euros.
The operations registered until March 31 are distributed among live arts, with 58% of the expenditure; cultural goods in physical form, which represent 31.3% of the total; and products in digital form, with 10.7%.
Since its launch, the Ministry of Culture and Sport is collecting and analyzing the data on the use of the Young Cultural Voucher, which will allow us to know the habits and cultural interests of young people in Spain. This analysis has introduced the distribution by sex and by population size.
The provisional data by sex indicate that the beneficiary women have carried out, since the launch of the Bond, 380,319 operations, compared to 339,331 carried out by men. With regard to the distribution by size of population centres, localities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants account for the bulk of operations, a total of 297,088; compared to 168,815 in cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants; and 256,380 in provincial capitals.
As of April 19, there were 2,907 affiliated companies (some with multiple establishments in the Spanish territory), 11% more than in February. This translates into more than 3,000 physical and online sales outlets available (see the map here), to which are added another 66 applications currently under processing. The term of accession of companies remains open.
Rating Survey
The Ministry of Culture and Sport has carried out a survey evaluating the service among a sample of 8,782 beneficiaries, of which 5,425 young people completed the survey. Among other aspects, it has been consulted whether the Voucher gives the user the opportunity to enjoy cultural products and activities that previously they did not acquire, responding affirmatively to 87.54% of those consulted. In addition, 98.58% say they would recommend the Bonus to young people who turn 18 this year. And regarding the experience with the Bonus, 41.83% consider it acceptable, 33.63% excellent and 23.45% improvable.
About the Young Cultural Bonus
From the granting of the aid, young people have one year to use the 400 euros in cultural products or services. The Young Cultural Voucher works with a prepaid card issued by Correos and that the beneficiary can have virtually on his mobile or receive physically at home.
With this card you can enjoy cultural experiences and products, which are divided into three sections to favor the diversification of investment, with the following distribution:
► 100 euros for physical products, for example, books, press or disks.
► 100 euros for digital products, such as digital press, podcast or online video games.
► 200 euros for performing arts: theatre, opera, cinema, dance, museums or bullfighting shows.
The objective of the Ministry of Culture and Sport with this pioneering initiative has a double meaning: on the one hand, it shows the interest of a wide spectrum of the young Spanish population for culture, which this initiative helps to build loyalty as a public and cultural consumer for the future; and, on the other hand, it offers additional support to the cultural sector to recover from the crisis, with an estimated higher investment of close to 112 million euros.
Young Cultural Bonus 2023
The Council of Ministers approved on March 20, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture and Sport, Miquel Iceta, the Royal Decree that regulates the Young Cultural Bonus for 2023. The aid of 400 euros is aimed at the 500,000 young people who turn 18 years of age during this year and who will be able to allocate to the acquisition and enjoyment of products, services and cultural activities. For the second consecutive year, the Government is promoting a public initiative that aims to promote universal and diversified access to culture for young people, generate and strengthen habits of consumption of cultural products, create new publics, stimulate demand and strengthen and consolidate the revitalization of the cultural sector in Spain.
