The Council of Ministers has approved an agreement requesting the President of the Government to file an appeal of unconstitutionality against the whole of Law 1/2024 that repeals Law 14/2018, of democratic memory of Aragon.
The Government, after rejecting the dialogue by the Autonomous Community of Aragón through the mechanism established in article 33.2 of the Organic Law of the Constitutional Court, filed the appeal of unconstitutionality for violation of competence and the principle of collaboration, and also for violation of articles 10 and 15 of the Spanish Constitution (CE), considering that the developments relating to the legal status of victims contained in international standards provide relevant interpretation guidelines for the prosecution of the constitutionality of Law 1/2024.
