The Minister of Territorial Policy and Spokeswoman of the Government, Isabel Rodríguez, has valued the advances in Equality of this Government, because “if we want to move definitively towards equality: it is the true co-responsibility in care, the true reconciliation of family and work life. In this legislature we have continued to make progress on sexual and reproductive rights, with the law on the voluntary interruption of pregnancy or the law of comprehensive guarantee of sexual freedom.”
“You always have to be vigilant, you always have to keep working from the institutions. And this government has acted with determination, opening opportunities for equality, narrowing gaps with measures such as: paternity leave, raising the SMI, rights for domestic workers, raising non-contributory pensions, etc. For all these measures, our work is worth it.”
Isabel Rodríguez, who participated in the opening day of “Challenges of local equality policies”, organized by the Barcelona Provincial Council, stressed that “women in politics have the opportunity to exercise feminist, inclusive and pedagogical leadership, which allows us to continue moving forward in the coming decades”, because “the transformation of Spain is also the feminist transformation”.
