The Government of Spain will send approximately another 15 million masks, through the delegations and subdelegations of the Government.
The ministries of Territorial Policy and Public Function and Health will distribute the masks with the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the Caritas, Red Cross and Cermi organizations aimed at the most vulnerable people.
The announcement was made by Minister Darias at the press conference following the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, together with the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, and explained that the municipalities will receive 7.2 million masks in this distribution, which, together with the distribution of May and September, amounts to 38.5 million masks distributed among municipalities, deputies, councils and consells since March. “The local entities are the administrations closest to the citizens and do a great job, hence the importance that the Government gives them and through them we articulate this delivery,” he said.
